Sevilla, an afternoon date....

Yesterday, John and I had a treat! Our sweet Paula wanted to take the kids for the afternoon, and we took ourselves to Seville for an afternoon date!
We had such a fun time, walking around and having tapas at a few local places. The one above ( Horacio) is an old, quaint bar (a "bar" is what you call a smallish "restaurant" here in Spain...) and has very typical, Spanish tapas (small portions of local Spanish food... )
We even ate the typical Spanish way, at the bar. Okay, I sat and JB stood! Often, you may have to stand, as the bars are small, crowded ( a sure sign that they are good!) And Spaniards, well, they just don't have the "personal space rules" that many of us Americans have.... So, you may not only have to stand and eat, but also literally be surounded by many people, who are completely in ( what was!) your "personal space!!"

We shared:
"Ensalada Marisco" ( a cold salad consisting of tiny octopus, clams, shrimps, bell peppers, onions, tomatoes, and clams.)
"Ensalada de Salmon y Eneldo" (cold chuncks of salmon, olive oil, onion, and dill.)
" Berenjena de Carne" ( eggplant, meat in a sauce, baked over mashed potatoes..)

Tapas here are very unique, and perhaps one of the things Seville is most known for...You usually order several and share, therefore, getting to try lots of different dishes! This is something we have always really enjoyed here!

Love,
Jenny
